Rotate PDF pages online

Processed in your browser — never uploaded

Scanned documents often come out sideways or upside down depending on how the page was fed through the scanner. This tool rotates every page of your PDF by a fixed angle — 90, 180, or 270 degrees — entirely in your browser, so you can fix orientation before sharing or printing. Upload your file, pick the rotation, and download the corrected PDF. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

Why scanned pages come out sideways

Document feeders pull pages in a fixed orientation, so if a page was placed landscape in a portrait feeder — or the scanner's auto-rotate misread a page with sparse text — every page in that batch comes out turned the same way. That is why this tool applies one rotation to the whole document rather than page by page: sideways scans are almost always sideways consistently, and fixing them in one action is what people actually need.

Rotation is metadata, not re-rendering

A PDF page carries a rotation value that viewers apply when displaying it. Changing that value costs nothing in quality — the page content is untouched, text stays selectable, and the file size barely changes. This is different from rotating an image, where the pixels themselves must be redrawn. It also means the rotation is genuinely stored in the file and will display correctly in any standards-compliant PDF reader, not just the one you happened to use.

Choosing the right angle

If the top of your page currently points to the right of the screen, you need 90 degrees. If it points left, you need 270. If the page is upside down, 180. The preview shows page one with your chosen rotation applied before you commit, which is faster than guessing and re-doing it. Rotation accumulates on any angle the file already had, so a page that was already rotated once will end up at the combined angle.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate individual pages differently?
This tool applies one rotation angle to every page. For mixed orientations within a single file, you'd need a page-by-page editor.
Does rotating affect PDF quality?
No, rotation only changes the page's display orientation metadata — content isn't re-rendered or re-encoded.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No, rotation happens locally in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
You'll need to unlock a password-protected PDF first — this tool doesn't handle encrypted files.
Can I rotate only some pages?
Not with this tool — the chosen angle applies to every page. Mixed-orientation documents need a page-by-page editor.
Will the file size change?
Barely. Rotation changes a small value in the page's metadata rather than the page content itself.
