It applies the published slabs, the standard deduction and the Section 87A rebate for the financial year the page names, and adds cess. That is enough to compare the old and new regimes for a straightforward salary.

It does not model capital gains, business or professional income, house property losses, surcharge at higher incomes, relief under Section 89, foreign income, or most individual exemptions and deductions. A real return can differ substantially. Always check incometax.gov.in for the current rules.

EMI, SIP, FD, RD, PPF and NPS figures use standard formulas and the rate you enter, held constant for the whole term. Real products differ: rates float, banks round differently, processing fees and insurance are added, prepayment changes the schedule, and market returns are not a fixed percentage. Treat the output as an illustration, and your lender's or provider's own sanction letter as the real number.

These depend on how your employer structures your package and on rules that vary by establishment and state. The results here follow the common statutory formulas, but your payslip is determined by your employer's policy and your actual terms of employment.

Where a page offers to compress a file toward a specific size, that is a target rather than a promise. How small a document can get depends on what is inside it — a scanned page is a photograph and resists compression in a way that a text document does not. The pages that offer a target say so plainly.
